Yup as post start and continues to state, money is easy to make i myself earned 2mil buying and selling items then buying some items now pretty much worthless pricewise but i still like them. Then decided FOW armour was for me so Dual UW and solo'ed FOW and within 3-4 months made enough and still had a mil in box now im down to 200k buying all the gear in guild hall and buying amber/shards.But when i have my chars round the factions missions and i want somthing to do ill earn my cash in UW/FOW and buy more same stat/dif skins that i fancy.

As people with money dont always farm like myself its just when you want somthing you just go out get the cash together and buy it. And it does feel better knowing earned it buy putting the time in to get it.

and one more thing only time ill part with real cash is when MORE SLOTS !!! are able to be bought i want 4

Money is easy to make if you have the patience to do it and/or be one lucky bugger. I hit 1million after a month of serious SF/Griffon farming while saving for my fissure armor. Nowadays I don't farm and I barely make any cash, with my bank fluctating between 70-80k (and dropping....ok ok, i spend it on keys :P) My guildie on the other hand has close to 2million because of his farming and mainly because he's the luckiest bugger in the world. The drops he gets are ridiculously amazing (a near perfect Serpent Axe before Factions came out for example) (un)fortunately, his luck caught up to him and he merched his FoW chest piece the other day >_<

I don't like to have more than 250k in cash... I usually keep that in storage, some 10k on my character, and the rest in keys / materials. I got bored and bought 100 sapphires one day, because I had too much over 250k

Money used to be impossibly easy, farming could bring in huge amounts when ectos were high... I spent most of my cash on FoW (14k ectos ftl) then prices dropped

I guess I have a lot of potential wealth... I can farm easily and I don't get bored of it, I just have so much other stuff to do with factions out. Maybe when I max my titles I'll farm more.

Don't think it's that hard to make money now, although UW farming certainly got ripped up.

I seem to go through money as fast as I get it; or I go in binges. My major weakness is the need for 15k armours for my mesmer...

So far I have crafted (15ks)
Rogues (Still have)
Enchanters (Still have)
Kurzick Enchanters (Have)
Luxon Enchanters (Trashed... it was ugly )
Virtuoso (Have)
Nobles (Sold, it wasn't... special)
Canthan (DrRoboto not for me)
... I seem to have bought them all... my life no longer has meaning!

What will you do with my armor, collect it?

I've played for 11 months. Greatest ammount of money - ever - account wide: 90k.

Are they E-baying it? Of course. This has to stop. The next time I see a guy in full FoW knight's armor I am going to hurt someone :P

I've been playing for about 12 months, and only once or twice have I had over 100k - and that doesn't last long

If there is a weapon I particularly want (or 15k armour), then I'll get out the 55. A little light farming and a bit of buying, then I'm skint again.

My policy is to never buy anything over 100k (and even then, rarely over 20k). I really don't do ecto - never even seen one.

EDIT:
... and how happy am I that I don't care much for the Canthan greens?

Guild Wars is probably one of the easiest games to earn money fast. after near 3,000 hours of playing the game for 12 months I've had millions of gold pass through my hands. Usually while running a campaign my character winds up with near 100k anyway. Thats not to add in b/p runs, FoW chest runs, or any other activity I do to earn money. I usually dont work with selling items to players unless they're perfect rare skinned items. Its just not fun having to sit in town selling. Farming amber for awhile was good money but the price has dropped down a lot used to be able to sell 10 for 30k And believe me it did not take long at all to get 10,000 faction (kurzick). A lot of money I made was also through Sorrows Oro runs and way back when FA runs were going strong. Used to sell razorstone for 90k+ that was the easiest time for me at least to make GW gold. I can't say I spend money wisely either. When VBA came out way back when the Tombs were defiled I bought it for 160k which was probably the worst trade I've ever made.

That all said, if you keep your money and know what to sell and where it should be no problem for you to get enough money for any item you want in the game.

indeed, all you new guys, it just takes a bit of playing, thats all..

ive played this for ~3 months (just checked it, 390hours playtime, about 80 of which are purely afk'ing) and I have made about 2.5mil (its a guess, might be off somewhat).

why did I make it ? coz its boring in gw after a point for me.. how? mostly came from solo fow and 2man uw, some of it (about 300k i suppose) came from when amber was 3-4k, and more even from greenies like merkis gaze and so on

but do we actually need this money?

Default Why does anyone care

Why does anyone care who wealthy in GW? Its not like its real life. Its a game. I just want to play. I don't care if all 7 grp'ies are poor or rich as long as they can play. The GW economy is not real life. Its not like I am going to watch the trading posts and boards like the nasdaq. So the price of ecto goes up or down. So I have to play longer to save up GW cash for my weapons or armor. So someone pays a few real dollars for GW cash. Whats the big deal?

I guess I am just ignorant and don't understand.

An interesting thing to think about is that much of the money made from farming does tie into ebay. If you look at the people buying everything you farm i bet that more than half ties back to ebay. That at least half of the 6000k i have on my 4 accounts came from ebay because I'm sure a lot of my customers for running buy from ebay.
Just food for thought.

i was thinking that there is a massive amount of people on ebay who buy gold. if you look at some of the famous companies they have thousands of customers (look at feedback). there must be tens of thousands of gold purchases on ebay alone. and then you got the websites aswell.

Don't think it's too hard to get 1000k and 100k on each char. Just need a little patience and research on trading and the economy. Constitent flow of money from doing two man uw runs and b/p groups, I guess. I made 1000k and 100k plus within 5 months but the /age shows it's been much longer. I gave up on the game trying to make a 55 monk when sup monk runes ranged from 15k - 20k a peice. When I finally made my 55 monk, the aoe nerf commenced. AAAARGH On the debate of money vs wealth. Either people are addictive and let the game control you (3000 plus hours over x amount of months) or not, and play for fun with maybe 1 - 20k in storage. It doesn't matter how much money you have, it's more about how abundant you feel with x amount of cash. :P just my point of view. There is a reason developers made 1.5k armor and fow armor roughly 1.4 million with the "exact" same stats. Collectors weapons and green weapons with perfect stats that don't even range from 100k + 50 -60 ectos unless it's uber rare like urghoz

55 monk farmer and atm machine

Here is my Progression of Monk Armor Purchases from having 1.3k to 70k to 1000k in Storage

Nice collection of armor. Of course there is one sign of an ultra rich player, black dyed bags on all their chars

Howd you spot an eBayer? Well i saw this in the Ascalon int district earlier while trading some black dyes to a friend on the US server.

'WTB Ghias Staff WTB 300k' (something to that affect, probably got the spelling wrong).

Now who actually pays that much for a staff? Theres the outside chance that they're legitimate, but anyone paying 300k for a green item that will eventually be worth an Ogre Slaying Knife, and more to the point, probably the same as another staff out there with mods you can get for about 30k. Speaking of Ogre Slaying Knives, i have 3 in storage...

There are obviously people who legitimately pay for things like Crystalline Swords too, but then again your almost guaranteed to be VERY unique in that sense, also the chances that they'll go down in price are very slim indeed.

Blacktemplar, however much you obviously farm, i do envy your storage space I still have a Beautiful Pearl in mine, for some reason i don't wanna get rid of it...

Ok ...... I really admire all the players that devote so much time to collect gold through farming and trading! Thanks to them I can buy what I'm not able to find, yes I'm unlucky too! :P

I tried farming with my monk, making her a 55 monk with the help of my guild, but I found it boring and ripetitive.
I'm no good at selling my items, I have no patience and I sell to the first player at a very low price, or I don't sell at all and give my surplus items to guildies or I sell to the merchants!
After more than one year of playing I have more or less 150k not much but I did not waste time on thing different than fully playing the game.
Trading and farming is not for me, I'll be a happy poor player!

Back when the Droks run was popular I would make 200k+ a day easily. I would just get on at peak times and make 3 runs and hour, that is 45k an hour for pushing a few buttons over and over again and trying not to fall asleep.
